How did you end up working with Selfridges?
I studied English Literature at Goldsmith’s College in London before getting my first job at a small magazine publishing company, followed by a couple of years working as a freelance journalist and completing internships. I started at Selfridges.com three years ago - first managing the product copy team and now as Online Style Editor.
What is your favourite brand/designer?
Stella McCartney for classic investment pieces, Acne for knits and shirts and Carven for something a little quirkier. I go weak-at-the-knees for anything with pockets and a cute collar so Carven ticks all the boxes for me.
What was your biggest sale bargain?
Stella McCartney printed pyjama trousers – I’ve worn them non-stop since I bought them.
Which trends should we look out for for AW12?
The most exciting thing for me are the prints - lots of psychedelic patterns with an Asian influence. And bold colours will still be important. I think it will be another tricky season for anyone who doesn’t like print and colour.
What will you be investing in for the new season?
I've promised myself that this is the year I invest in a really great, classic coat. I've got my eye on a few from Stella McCartney and this one from Alexander McQueen would be a dream purchase.
Who are your style icons?
That changes all the time. I think Diane Kruger and Alexa Chung both have great personal style and I’m always inspired by women who have quite an androgynous look but are still really feminine, like Jane Birkin.
What will be in your beach bag this summer? Do you have beach beauty essentials or any books you're looking forward to reading?
When I’m on holiday I live in my favourite American Vintage maxi dress and new Ray-Ban round frame sunglasses. I rely on Lancaster's SPF 50 for delicate skin as I'm not much of a sunbather. I'm also re-reading lots of F. Scott Fitzgerald at the moment in preparation for the release of the new Great Gatsby film.
Who would be at your dream dinner party?
Tom Ford, Marilyn Monroe, Atticus Finch and Wes Anderson. An eclectic bunch!
