Last night, the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was literally sparking with starlets. The dominant trend for ladies arriving at the MET Gala was definitely metallics. They came in all shapes and sizes and from a range of design houses including Prada (naturally), Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren. Some were classic and floor-sweeping, whilst others were short and sexy. Out of these ten looks, which do you think deserves to be crowned best dressed?
This weekend, one of our favourite style icons Carey Mulligan tied the knot with her childhood sweetheart Marcus Mumford! The actress married the Mumford & Sons star on Saturday at a top secret ceremony on a farm in Somerset. Celebrity guests are thought to have included Colin Firth, Sienna Miller and Jake Gyllenhaal, whilst Rankin reportedly captured the moment. Although no photos have emerged from the nuptials, it was initially thought that Carey wore Versace for her big day (which seemed like a strange choice for the actress). Now more reports have confirmed that she actually wore Prada which she often wears on the red carpet (including at the 2010 Oscars). It's sure to be a custom made design, but below are some bridal-esque dresses by both Miuccia Prada and Versace. Carey wore a full-length ivory dress for the occasion whilst her eight bridesmaids wore turquoise knee-length prom dresses with matching heels. We understand that it was a private ceremony and respect the couple's privacy, but surely we could at least see a photo of the dress?! Until then, you can shop both Prada and Versace below.
