During this so far chilly Spring we are still thinking of ways to wear our Summer wardrobes, which is why we love the floral trouser trend so much! The perfect solution to brightening up your work wardrobe, we like the way Olivia Palermo wears hers with a tailored wool coat and yellow top with striking effect. Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh also beautifully works the trend, teaming her blooming lovely cropped trousers with a fab fuschia satin blouse. There's something so sophisticated about a pair of wide leg trousers and right now they certainly make the perfect choice for smart evening dress during an unseasonably cold Spring! Two of our favourite style inspirations Olivia Palermo and Cat Deeley have been seen working the trend, Olivia teaming hers with a casusal cable knit jumper, while Cat loves to wear them high waisted. Whether you prefer plain, pastel or pattern designs, shop a fantastic selection of wide leg trousers from House of Fraser below!
Dressing casual for the office is totally acceptable, wearing your Isabel Marant trainers with your grey marl Whistles sweatshirt. Fashion rules are changing fast but that doesn't mean we have lost the glamour altogether - which is why we love the statement necklace so much! There's never been a better time to drench yourself in diamonds with a statement necklace which are very much part of Olivia Palermo's signature style. Fashion week is already coming to a close and we have to say one of the stand out shows to us was Sass & Bide, which was set in a beautiful gothic church not far from the Houses of Parliament in London. On arrival, we mingled with the most friendly crowd, which included Pixie Lott who joined a front row of stars including Made in Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh and Olivia Palermo. We were also excited to hear that the amazing Charlotte Tilbury was head of make-up and the clean, fresh and pretty look worn with a ballerina bun was the perfect choice for the glamorous designs. We loved the beautiful mix of long and floaty white sheer fabrics, long dresses with thigh high splits, juxtaposed with more futuristic and structured fabrics. Check out the full Sass & Bide AW'13 show by designers Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton below!
We love to follow the fashion pack on Instagram, and we were pretty excited to see Olivia Palermo tweet a mini makeover she had from inside a special branded 'Benefit' taxi during fashion week! We know for a fact Olivia loves her beauty as much as fashion, because on her lifestyle blog she reveals lots of her personal beauty tricks and tips to help you stay looking, well lets face it just as fabulous as her! Here she explains why primer is a make-up must-have and an essential to keep you looking fresh faced and fabulous throughout the most demanding of days! She says:
"Out of all the products in your makeup case, primer is probably the most important. It smooths lines and wrinkles, makes pores virtually undetectable, and creates a flawless base, allowing your makeup to last hours longer. While no doubt a life changer, it can be hard to get that dewy glow after applying. To ensure a glowing complexion, mix your favorite primer with one or two drops of a hydrating serum. You’ll look radiant from your morning latte to your post dinner espresso!"
Olivia Palermo steps stylishly into 2013 wearing a top to toe winning outfit. Shop a similar knee length jacket with zip detail and monochrome bowling bag both from Dorothy Perkins below. Olvia's signature manicure is red, so if one of your New Year resolutions is to keep your nails up to scratch, apply Essie A List (£13.95) one of her favourite shades. If you like to keep up with Olivia's effortless style, it's worth checking out her personal blog Olivia Palermo, where she reveals her life and style tips. One such tip is about confidence, which we love and will definitely be taking on board this year! She says:
"Though confidence has nothing to do with physical appearance, looking your best will make you feel your best. Wear something that makes you feel amazing – regardless of trends – and take your time with make-up and hair. Use an extra-special little something getting ready, like a favorite scented body lotion – anything that makes you feel indulgent. Confidence is a self-fufilling prophesy, so keep telling yourself how great you are!"
