The monochrome trend is the look of the moment and what nail polish is best to accessorise this look? Red! Red nails are being seen on all the celebs right now, from Kim Kardashian to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Nicole Richie (below) it's the perfect brighten up any outfit colour to take you through spring. If you're new to wearing red there are a few favourites which should be on your shopping list. Essie A-list (£7.99) is a classic sophisticated red, while OPI the trill of Brazil (£15.95) is a brighter more vibrant weekend shade. Chanel nail polishes will always look good on your dressing table, we love Chanel dragon (£18). Shop a selection of must-have OPI reds below.
Monochrome and stripes are two of the hottest trends this SS'13 season, so why not wear them together like the A-list to create the ultimate style statement! Stripes have been seen in so many designer collections including Dolce and Gabbana, Moschino and Acne, so it's no surprise the celebrities are working the trend. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in particular gets style points from us for wearing a fashion forward black and white stripe, wide leg, Chanel jumpsuit to an Oscar party. Shop a wide selection of monochrome stripe dresses and separates from ASOS below!
Top Tip: Vertical stripes help to elongate the body while horizontal stripes accentuate curves.
The clocks don't go forward an hour until the end of the month (March 31st), but we think there's no better time to celebrate officially moving into British Summer Time with a new watch. The new collection of watches by Karl Lagerfeld at House of Fraser and Harrods are the latest must-have style and as soon as we saw the sleek and modern selection we knew we had to have one! They come in a stylish rage of silver and black stainless steel, making the design quite a contrast from your traditional gold Guess or Michael Kors watch style. Shop Karl by Karl Lagerfeld watches below.
Metallic is everywhere this SS'13 season! Metallic fabrics by nature look incredibly luxurious which is why they appear in so many designer collections. For spring, choose colourful metallics in peach, brown, blue and grey from designers such as Stella McCartney, Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain and Balenciaga. Metallic fabrics will also beautifully highlight a tan as Blake Lively demonstrates below. A lighter metallic like Blake's sensational silver Chanel evening gown also makes a great choice for a wedding if you're a guest or the bride! Shop a design close to Blake's by Rachel Comey (£549.77) and browse our favourite metallic evening dresses from Farfetch below.
Cara Delevingne walked the Chanel AW'13 ready-to-wear show at Paris Fashion week and the collection of both monochrome and bright boucle wool jackets teamed with chain detail biker boots had an ultra modern edge while still managing to maintain traditional Coco Chanel style.
Karl Lagerfeld said about the collection: "I want her to look like what I showed you. The boots make the legs endless, and the colors going up, even if it's in darker colors, as it's better for the women, it's very uplifting."
You can channel your Chanel look into spring by shopping a boucle wool jacket, first made famous by Coco Chanel herself. Look for biker style boucle jackets with new season leather accents, perfect for spring when the weather is unreliable! Shop boucle jackets from New Look, Dorothy Perkins and Mango and team with skater skirts, skinny jeans and biker boots just like Cara Delevingne and co on the Chanel catwalk below.
It's Mother's day on Sunday and we think the perfect gift to give is fragrance because it's a luxury item you're least likely to buy for yourself! That being said, fragrance is a very subjective thing, so when buying for others it's best to go for fragrances with either soft floral, fruit or vanilla notes as these are the most universally popular and perfect for spring.
For beautiful fresh florals suitable for everyday, we love Marc Jacobs Daisy, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and Chloé Love which is a divine milky floral. There are also some fantastic fragrance sets which make great gifts, check out ones by Estee Lauder and Clarins below. Alternatively, if you're looking for a very specific scent or particular note 'rose' for example, Jo Malone should not be missed and all fragrances come in gorgeous gift boxes.

Our favourite mother Victoria Beckham and baby Harper. Victoria prefers her fragrance to be warm and floral with notes of lily and rose.

Since leaving London Fashion Week for Milan and Paris, Cara Delevingne has racked up an impressive amount of catwalk shows. The beauty of hair and make-up means her look has dramatically changed between walking the runway for designers such as Vanessa Bruno, Lanvin, H&M and our absolute favourite look on her, at Pucci (below). Cara walks in one of her biggest shows today for Chanel in Paris which we can't wait to see! Read more about Cara Delevingne's incredible fashion week experience here.
This time of year even with the most dedicated skin care regime the cold weather and central heating can take its toll on your skin leaving it dry and dull looking. Dehydrated skin can take time to get back into tip top condition, so before it does you can also use some make-up techniques to cheat your way to brighter, glowing and better looking skin.
Prep and prime
If you thought primers were only for oily skin, think again. Because they actually work as a protective layer (from the cold elements) and can help lock in your moisturiser. Use an illuminating primer or hydrating primer like the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer (£28) to keep skin looking lit from within.
Ace your base
Foundation will cling to dry patches and can take a lot of work to blend into your skin. So look for a formula that's not just ultra light but moisturising too. Tinted moisturisers are a great option for those who don't need coverage, but for those who prefer a more polished appearance, choose the next generation of water based foundations which will cover and hydrate at the same time. We like Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (£32) and Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! (£24.50).
Supermodel skin in an instant
A little face powder is essential to keep your make-up on, but they don't have to leave skin looking super matte. Always use a large fluffy face brush for a light coverage. Mineral powders leave a glowing look to the skin, try Laura Mercier Mineral Powder (£22) or Bare Minerals Finishing Powder (£22).
Shine bright like a diamond
Everything you apply to your face should leave a glow, but we're not talking disco ball effect. You can also apply highlighters, illuminating bronzers or blushers to further boost your skins luminosity. We love Dior Amber Diamond Shimmering Face Powder (£28.45) and Nars Laguna Bronzer (£25) for fail safe, instant skin shimmers.
kiss me quick
Valentines is fast approaching and unfortunately in winter lips can look less than kissable. Keep them soft, colourful and moisturised with hydrating lip colour. We are huge fans of Dior Addict Lip Glow (£23) for the prettiest pop of colour.
Karl Lagerfeld courted media attention today not just because of the positive reaction to his outstanding SS'13 Chanel Couture show in Paris yesterday but because it also featured two brides walking hand in hand together as a declaration of support for marriage equality. One of the brides in question was current UK Vogue cover girl Kati Nescher and the adorable page boy who accompanied the brides down the isle was actually Lagerfeld's Godson. The show itself had a generous celebrity turn out including Diane Kruger, Rita Ora and Laura Bailey. The collection itself was a crowd pleasing blend of embellished chiffon and lace dresses, floral painted print dresses along with more traditional Chanel style blazer suits. Check out the amazing collection in our gallery below.
