Coachella officially kicked off at the weekend and we are loving the festival fashion! Alessandra Ambrosio is top of our best dressed list so far, her effortless yet well styled outfit with neon accents made her stand out from the crowd in the best possible way. We liked the way she wore a scarf as a headband, create a similar hairstyle with the Alexander McQueen silk scull scarf (£165) from Selfridges. Alessandra is also bang on trend wearing Ray-Ban mirror aviators (£128), shop the same model from Stylebop. Shorts are still the most popular and practical Coachella outfit choice, shop a similar style to Alessandra's hot pink denim from Anthropologie (£58) along with a wide variety of neon, pastel and distressed denim shorts from Boohoo below.

Ahead of the UK festival season, we decided to trawl through hundreds of Coachella street style pics to bring you a round-up of the hottest 2012 festival looks straight from the field. Some may even surprise you!
More commonly associated with circus big top tent than music festival, but bold stripes were everywhere at Coachella, most noticeably on shorts and playsuits. A number of celebs like Lauren Conrad were seen working the trend, which has come straight from the spring / summer 2012 shows from designers such as Stella McCartney.
Another fairly unusual choice for a festival, but both structured and loose white shirts were a popular choice. A great option if the weather's looking iffy, we'll be wearing ours soft and sheer with denim shorts like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
For the first time in well, a long time, Rayban style sunglasses have taken a back seat to more vintage styles. The most popular frames were ivory and tortoiseshell but the only shape lens to be seen in this season is round.
Neon looks great with a tan and there's no easier way for your friends to find you in a crowd. A neon racer back vest or day-glow denim skirt will see you nicely through the festival season.
A cute current fashion trend that was born for festivals, crops all of all colours were seen at Coachella. Still a workable trend for the shy, if you don't dare to bare your midriff team with high waisted shorts or skirts.
The maxi dress and skirt were equally common at Coachella, a sensible choice if you're not guaranteed good weather or you don't love getting your legs out. But maxi doesn't mean boring, because colourful fabrics are bright on trend, as are mini skirts with a sheer maxi skirt overlay.
