Fashion week is already coming to a close and we have to say one of the stand out shows to us was Sass & Bide, which was set in a beautiful gothic church not far from the Houses of Parliament in London. On arrival, we mingled with the most friendly crowd, which included Pixie Lott who joined a front row of stars including Made in Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh and Olivia Palermo. We were also excited to hear that the amazing Charlotte Tilbury was head of make-up and the clean, fresh and pretty look worn with a ballerina bun was the perfect choice for the glamorous designs. We loved the beautiful mix of long and floaty white sheer fabrics, long dresses with thigh high splits, juxtaposed with more futuristic and structured fabrics. Check out the full Sass & Bide AW'13 show by designers Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton below!
The thing we love about Fashion Week is that there are celebrities everywhere! Even the stars you didn't think were in London, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and the Saturdays we're looking at you! From the UK A-list to Hollywood stars, celebs filled the front rows of their favourite designers to support the very best in British design. And it's fantastic to see. So, we thought we would make a gallery of our favourite stars, from Made in Chelsea working spring forward crop tops, to Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel wearing matchy matchy at Tom Ford, the range of fashion being worn was both forward thinking and fabulous. Enjoy!
Did you manage to catch the Burberry AW'13 live show earlier? Or maybe you would just like to see it again and frankly we don't blame you! Because it comes as no surprise that Christopher Bailey's hotly anticipated London Fashion Week show certainly lived up to expectations. Showcasing an incredible model army including Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss walking the catwalk in monochrome and animal prints with gorgeous metallic accents, the show did not disappoint injecting a glamorous spark into our autumn wardrobes!
Official Burberry make-up artist Wendy Rowe told us backstage about the collection: "There's a definite nod to the 60's with the collection, so I wanted to give the girls a strong eye, but also light, luminosity and glimmer to reflect the gold accents in the designs." Wendy also gave us a little tip before watching the show. "Take a good look at the prints. Just when you think it's animal print or polka dots, it's a print made up of different sized hearts. Super sweet!"
But of course it wasn't just the designs or models that caught our attention but the front row. Attracting a huge array of stars including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Olivia Palmero, Tinie Tempah, Rita Ora and Anna Wintour to name just a few of our favourites. Enjoy the spectacular show once again below!
A grey marl jumper is an essential fashion staple as the LBD - so when it comes to shopping for this capsule wardrobe must-have we suggest Reiss's gorgeous Cate Jumper (£89) seen here on the beautiful Olivia Palermo. Olivia is a huge fan of Reiss particularly their blazers so if you see her in something you like it's always worth checking their collection! Shop a selection of other more colourful marl effect jumpers below.
Haizhen, a Central St Martins MA graduate who has previously worked for Maxmara and AllSaints, will receive financial backing worth over 100K and a fully equipped studio at Somerset House for two years. ShopStyle talked exclusively to Haizhen at his studio last month and were just so impressed with his designs we are thrilled he won! Haizhen's designs were military inspired and included beautiful tailored jackets in rich fabrics and leather (above and below).
Fashion Fringe finalist Vita Gottlieb (below left) showed a vibrant collection of stunning textile designs in ethnic prints, while Teija Eilola received gasps from ladies in the crowd due to her fabulously feminine collection of floaty dresses and light jackets. The creative talent from all finalists was exceptionally high and we wish them the very best of luck for the future!
Kate Moss is looking suitably kitted out for Autumn at the Mulberry show today, wearing two key trends in one spectacular jacket - leather and oversize. We like the way she smartens up the look with trousers and stilettos. Leather is of course always a great investment piece that lasts so don't let a price tag put you off! For new season style updates look for leather jackets with quilted designs, wool texture, studs, chain detail, zips and shearling.
Whether you love her or love to hate her, the fact is Olivia Palermo always looks picture perfect and this is why we're big fans here at ShopStyle HQ. We like her look here at London Fashion Week wearing a Burberry tweed military jacket and bow belt. But it was her hair and make-up which made the overall look just so special. Flawless skin and her signature brown smoky eyes, it's a polished make-up look we'd love to recreate this Autumn. Shop some similar beauty essentials below.
